Your easiest option probably involves spikes. Short, crew-cut looks are actually in right now, but you should consider your face shape before you go for it. A super short look is going to be better for you if you have a strong jaw line, a normal head shape, and ears that don’t draw too much attention to themselves. You don’t want to draw too much attention to anything too weird, so think long and hard about whether you have weird facial features you want play down.

Slightly longer hair is nice if you can tousle it with a little gel or pomade. You need a little length to get any kinds of spikes or even to just mess it up a little, and it’s much more forgiving than a crew cut for the facial features. The trick is to decide what you want it to be before you start messing with it. Do you want to go for the Jude Law look and mess it up carefully in sections? Would you rather spike it up all over? Are you okay with longer spikes or do you just like the look of subtle short spikes? Decide what you want and then make sure you have a good gel that looks natural or wet in your hair, depending on the look you’re going for.

Longer looks are back as well, but you’ve got to figure out how your hair will look long. Straighter hair will probably work better if you’re going long, but it also looks nice with a little bit of a wave. Super curly hair is probably better short unless you’re going for an afro – long curls on guys tend to look more sloppy than attractive.

Don’t be afraid to have good hair! I know you can do it.

Using the taper fade hair in many different cuts, especially those that are meant to look military or extremely short, yet neat and professional, can be a good idea. Think of a Marine “high and tight” haircut, in which very short hair at the top becomes almost no hair along the side and the back of the neck and you’ll have a good idea of the backs of the taper and the fade.

While not a haircut itself, the two components — the fade and the taper — are used to cut down hair until it’s very short on the sides and the back and which also tapers in a definable and clean line down the back of the neck until the bottom, where it cuts across in a straight line from one side to the other. The fade starts at the ears and goes upwards for a defined length.

Fades go by many names, including the Philly fade and the Brooklyn fade and all of them share the basic characteristic that defines them; a fade from longer hair near the top to almost no hair on the sides. This is a gradually “fading” away, though, and not something that looks like a bowl cut. Tapers begin at the back of the neck and slight into the sides and then taper downwards.

The best way to get a very tight and professional looking haircut that is also stylish is to combine the fade and the taper together into one smooth unit. Hair on the top of the head is short and becomes shorter still, almost to the point of non-existence at the bottom of the taper. It is an extremely sharp-looking cut down at the bottom of the taper, too.

To shape hair using a fade and a taper, it’s necessary to put the highest number razor guard handy onto a set of clippers and then start cutting side and back hair, taking care to go all the way around the head. After the first pass, swap the guard to the next lowest number (e. G. From 3 to 2 and so forth) and repeat. Stop cutting when you hit the beginning of the taper point.

Make sure you keep repeating the cut and then swap-out of guards until you’ve reached the point where your hair is as short on the sides and on the taper that you desire. Try to stop your cutting about 1/8 of an inch from each previous cut and also try to make sure you cut in a straight line all around. With each cut/pass, comb the remaining hair downward and stop cutting at the bottom of the taper.

Remember how many numbered razor guards you used (e. G. From 3 to 2 to 1 and then 0) because you’ll want to know what was successful if you taper fade hair again. Take care to go over your handiwork and then rinse out the hair to check it for cut and blending. If it doesn’t look even and neat just repeat the process over again until you get the desired look.

The debate over the benefits versus the cost of tanning has been raging for years. However, one thing is often overlooked-regardless of whether you are outside or in a tanning bed, you will get burned. Tanning Bed Sunburn is potentially one of the most discomforting experiences one can have and, ironically, one that we all will experience several times throughout our lifetimes. For a few of us, we will have more tanning bed burns than actual outdoor tans.

As far as sunburns go, tanning beds are moderately better for than you the outdoors. The main reason for this is because the short-wave ultraviolet rays, or UVB rays are the specific radiation frequency that causes sunburn in epidermis. The tanning beds are able to find the “perfect balance,” between giving you UVB rays and UVA rays. UVA rays causes the pigment cells, the cells that actually tan, move closer to the surface of the skin, exposing them the UVB rays, causing you to get a better tan.

Which Is Better – Sun Or A Fake-Bake?
However, you can and most likely still will get a sunburn from a tanning bed. Each person is different and each tanning bed is pre-set to a certain amount of UVA and UVB rays, typically the average. In reality, few people are truly “average” when it comes to pigmentation. Therefore, if you tan, you will burn. However, the tan is most likely going to be less severe than a similar amount of time in the actual sunshine, simply because you can actually control the levels of UVB radiation.

That being said, if you do get a tanning bed burn, and you will, you would treat much the same as you do with a normal suntan sunburn. There is no real way to truly alleviate the burning, but the one all time best treatment of sunburn is -you guessed, aloe vera. Aloe vera helps cool off the skin, and relieve the feeling of the burning on the skin. It is the best treatment for any type of sunburn, whether that burn be from the tanning bed or from the sun.

The simple truth of the matter is that in large quantities, any sort of radiation is bad for you-whether that be from the sun or from a tanning bulb. You can’t avoid the sun, and as a matter of fact, tanning in moderation can be healthy, and is healthy. But, just like fire, you play with it long enough and you will get a tanning bed burn.

As a person ages, skin care takes on a whole new design. Now, we抮e suddenly concerned about fighting wrinkles, fine lines and crows feet, among others. Skin starts to lose the elasticity it once had. The inner layer of skin starts to thin, and fat cells underneath the skin begin to diminish. Wounds are slower to heal, because the skin抯 ability to repair itself begins to slow down. Additional factors cause the skin to wrinkle and wear out, as well.

Excessive exposure to sunlight causes the breakdown of collagen in the skin, and UV radiation contributes to the release of damaging free radicals, degrading connective tissue.

So, all that sun bathing you did as a teenager will catch up to you in your later years! Cigarette smoking is also one of the worst things you can do, because it diminishes the level of estrogen in women to cause dryness and disintegration of the skin. It also reduces circulation to the skin, and compromises skins ability to fight of damaging free radicals. Doesn抰 sound too exciting, does it? As well it shouldn抰. In addition to this, rapid weight loss and heredity can play an important role in the formation of wrinkles.

In order for skin to dry out and fine lines to develop, the skin need only be poorly moisturized. That is why it抯 important to moisturize daily in an effort to fend off the signs of aging. The older you get, the more wrinkles will appear; however, it is possible to slow down and minimize the damage by taking very good care of your skin NOW, rather than waiting until it抯 too late to make a significant improvement.

Thankfully, there are some promising treatments for skin that is aging. For example, Argireline works to reduce facial tension, with all natural ingredients. Meaning, you don抰 need a prescription for it. In addition to relaxing facial muscles, Argireline works to slow down the degeneration of collagen and elastin, which diminishes naturally with age.

Dermox SRC is another wrinkle product ingredient, designed as a serum to treat wrinkles and restore the surface of the skin.

Not all products are right for everyone, however, so keep that in mind when choosing an anti-aging skin care product. You may have to try several before you find the right fit for you.

By taking important steps now to reduce the signs of aging, you can ensure a radiant, youthful complexion when you抮e older. What抯 more, taking preventative measures (quitting smoking, eats lots of fruits and vegetables, and always wearing sunscreen when exposed to the sunlight) will ensure maximum effectiveness of any topical anti-wrinkle products you may use.

Whether you抮e 25 or 55, it is essential that you start taking good care of your skin now, for beautiful skin in the future.

Ah, the joys of modern technology. Plastic surgery benefits from our advances in technology just like any other industry or medical field. This brings us to the subject of laser skin enhancements.

If you think you might be in need of a procedure to rejuvenate your face and restore your youthful appearance, you might be considering facial plastic surgery. However, for some individuals, surgical intervention is not the proper choice due to medical conditions or the particulars of your situation. In such cases, laser skin enhancements offers corrective solutions not previously available.

A laser skin enhancement is performed by plastic surgeons using advanced laser technology. The laser is strong enough to burn the first layer of dead tissue and a few living cells on the surface of the skin, but does not affect the other layers of skin tissue. The laser also reaches down to the underlying collagen. Instead of removing the collagen, the heat results in a reduction of the collagen. This reduction results in the tightening up of the collagen and skin giving the patient a less wrinkled look. In practical terms, laser skin enhancements give you a bit of a lift and peel at the same time.

A laser enhancement is not the best procedure for all facial concerns. It does not work well on areas such as deep creases in the neck and cheek, creases around the lips and the upper eyelids. For smaller, fine lines and light wrinkles, however, it can be a less invasive choice than surgery. There are many advantages to choosing the laser procedure. There is less recovery time, general anesthesia is generally not necessary, and there is very little blood loss. There are also normally no scars following the procedure.

There are some potential side effects to having laser enhancements as there are with any cosmetic surgery. The recovery takes about ten days during which you can have very sensitive skin with some weeping. During this period, you will see a progression of skin color from red to pink to normal. There can also be a permanent lightening of the area treated, which can be a problem for some dark skin individuals. It is also not recommended for people looking to remove large quantities of skin or who have severe facial damage due to sun or age. If you are such a patient, laser enhancements can help but will not be a total solution.

Laser skin enhancements are a popular alternative to traditional facial surgeries. Make sure to speak with your doctor to find out your options and whether this surgery is appropriate for you.

A lot of women are still unfamiliar of the use of mineral makeup as an alternative to traditional makeup. Perhaps, this lack of familiarity sometimes tend to make them unsatisfied of the results that they get when they try using natural-based cosmetic products and because of that, there are a lot of questions that are commonly being asked by many women who are already using this type of cosmetic or at least had the chance of trying this modern makeup trend.

What Is Mineral Makeup?

Mineral makeup is made up of naturally crushed up minerals that are derived from the earth’s surfaces. However, some cosmetic companies include certain preservatives and harsh elements in the composition thus sometimes making it unsafe for purposes of skin care.

What Is The Difference Of Mineral Makeup And The Traditional Makeup?

The primary difference of mineral makeup and traditional makeup is that it is composed of purely natural minerals that are safe and secure to use for the skin without the effect of irritating or creating more problems for the skin. Traditional makeup, on the other hand, is composed of harsh chemicals, preservatives, fillers, waxes, fragrance and oils to provide that long shelf life property of these cream-based products while compromising the skin’s health.

What Is The Shelf Life Of Mineral Makeup?

Mineral makeup contains pure minerals and evidently, these are inorganic and do not contain moisture so it is not a potential breeding ground for bacteria. Nonetheless, since brushes that came into contact with your face tend to transfer some organic matter into the minerals, then it is likely that the shelf life of your makeup will be reduced. However, it is a standard rule that when using makeup, see to it that you replace them at least once a year.

Are All Mineral Makeup The Same?

The obvious answer for this question is definitely a NO. Just because mineral makeup are composed of pure minerals, it does not necessarily mean that they are composed of the same minerals. Earth has a lot of minerals to offer that can serve as good sources of makeup for the skin. There are different ingredients that possess certain characteristics to enhance the features of a particular cosmetic and the amount that natural makeup producers put into their products normally differ that is why some makeups contain stronger features than others.

Is It Safe To Sleep With Mineral Makeup On?

Sleeping with makeup on is a big no-no! However, when you sleep with mineral makeup on, it is not as harmful as sleeping with traditional makeup due to its inert and non-comedogenic characteristic which means that it does not clog your pores hence making it the next safest thing to sleeping with no makeup.

Is Mineral Makeup Safe For Dry Skin Types?

Mineral makeup is the most versatile type of makeup that has ever been revealed. It is safe for all types of skin including those that are dry. However, before using on dry skin, apply a lightweight and non-greasy moisturizer beneath for at least thirty minutes to protect the moisture barrier of the skin.

What Are The Brushes That I Need To Apply Mineral Makeup Properly?

Usually it only takes two brushes to achieve that look you want although sometimes, it takes three to do so. The most widely used are the mineral foundation brush, the kabuki brush and the concealer brush. However for those who prefer light coverage, a kabuki brush is not anymore necessary. Kabuki brushes are designed for heavy application and they are a good option if you want to have more coverage for that evening look that you want to have.

For shoulder length hair, slightly less than 2 tablespoons of coconut oil should suffice. Measure the amount of coconut oil required and pour this into the smaller bowl.

Is your hair brittle and dry, never seeming to grow any longer no matter how you wait and hope? Well this just might help you grow a luscious lock of hair.

What you need to start is 100% pure coconut oil, a tablespoon, a large bowl to contain hot water, a smaller bowl to contain the oil and a small towel to wrap around your head. For shoulder length hair, slightly less than 2 tablespoons of coconut oil should suffice. Measure the amount of coconut oil required and pour this into the smaller bowl. Then place it into the bigger bowl, which should have been filled with hot water. Use the spoon to stir the oil around a bit to let it heat up.

When the oil is warm, carefully spoon some up and drip along your parting, massaging your scalp as you do so. Sweep your hair over to expose a different part of the scalp and repeat. Do this until your whole scalp is covered in the oil. You don’t really have to apply a lot, just a few drop for each part should do. Massage your scalp for at least a minute before moving on to the rest of your hair.

Using the spoon, pour some of the remaining oil in your palm and briefly rub your hands to spread it on both palms. Then run your hands down the length of your hair, coating it with oil. Repeat this until your whole head of hair, including the inner layers, is oiled. By now, the hot water would have cooled down a little. Soak your small towel in the warm water and wring it out till it’s damp. Then pile your hair on top of your head and wrap the towel firmly in place. This gives your hair a sort of spa or steaming effect, promoting blood circulation to the head.

After 1 hour, remove the towel and proceed to wash and shampoo your hair. Be sure to shampoo properly after this treatment or you’ll end up with an oily scalp. I do this about twice a week and it provides such a good environment for hair growth that I have to trim my fringe about once every 3 weeks to maintain it. Before I could even go months without trimming and there wouldn’t be any difference.

There抯 a lot of information to take in, and a lot of it seems to contradict the rest. Do you stick with the over counter hair and skin products or should you upgrade to the professional, high-end groom supplies? Is there really that much difference?

The truth of the matter in this VIP-driven economy is this: you get what you pay for. The days of something being more expensive simply because of its label are as far gone as the mullet and the calculator watch. For something to be worth its money, it had better work. And work better than the rank and file stuff.

As you get ready to reinvent yourself, make the commitment to spend a little more on the equipment that抯 going to bring you the biggest payoff in the mid- and long-term. Anyone would tell you to do the same if you were considering how to take care of your money. Now, take the same advice and use it to guide you when taking care of the only body you抣l ever have.

When you抮e planning to take care of your skin, depending on your skin type you抣l need to figure out a care regimen that works with your body, not against it. Your epidermis and oil glands are already doing everything they can to protect and nurture your skin cells. You want a cleanser and exfoliant that works in conjunction with your body抯 natural defenses. The over the counter stuff you get in the drugstore is like napalm for your skin: it just wipes everything away, leaving your skin to its own devices in rejuvenating and repairing its own damaged tissue. If you抳e ever wondered why your skin gets flaky after soaping up too much, it抯 because regular cleansers are indiscriminate. So, like jogging with a safe on your back is a bad idea, don抰 make your skin work harder than it has to. Any number of products, including Woody抯 and Baxter抯 of California, include the custom-engineered ingredients and natural additives to do the job.

Like the skin, your hair is already working with the tools you were born with. But stripping your hair with chemicals found in the cheap stuff only robs your hair and scalp of those very same agents. You want to stick to shampoos and conditioners that replenish what your body already has and builds upon it, such as those found in Sharp抯 Shampoo or John Allan brand shampoos. If you抮e choosing a conditioner, look for a brand like Anthony Logistics, which removes excess oil buildup while rinsing away the harmful effects of chemical cleaners and protects against the heat and humidity of the elements.

Beginning your grooming regimen is the first start in looking better and looking younger, which is always a big step in feeling good about yourself. Making that commitment and keeping it helps keep you at your best.

Visit MUG online for more men抯 grooming and advice, including dealing with a variety of skin problems and reinventing your body with top of the line hair and skin care products that won抰 cost a fortune.

Tanning is the body’s natural defense

against harsh conditions. Therefore, too much sun will wear the skin down and the result will be premature aging.

So what do you do if you want that summer glow? Makeup technique is all about cause and effect. With the right tools, you can create the effect of a glowing tan easily. First, be sure your skin is always moisturized. Moisturized skin encourages regeneration and allows makeup to go on smoothly. Dry, patchy skin absorbs makeup unevenly and blocks the pores from receiving moisture.

There are 3 types of sun effects you can produce with makeup. The most common is a bronzed effect. Powder based products are better suited for normal to oily skin, therefore bronzing powders are perfect. Normal to dry skin should use cr鑝e based or liquid bronzing products. Both will provide a soft and dewy tanned result. For a light natural look, apply the bronzer directly to bare skin areas such as the cheeks, nose, and eyes. Don’t forget to blend well and use sparingly. Also, pay attention to how your face looks when it is naturally flushed or tanned. Follow those same areas when applying a simulated effect. For example, when sweeping the cheeks, don’t forget about the bridge of the nose. The sun would hit this area naturally. To achieve a more finished tan effect, apply the bronzer over foundation and congealer. This would be followed by blot powder to remove any overly shiny areas.

The second sun effect is a glowing radiance effect. This is created by using creamy pink or peach toned formulations. Fluffy, lightweight, aluminizing creames that contain a hint of shimmer create a slightly

flushed radiant look. Remember the key is highlight so be sure and only highlight the areas that you want to draw attention to. For example, we would not want areas directly around the nose to glow, this would

look like perspiration.

The 3rd sun effect is the fashion forward shimmer. This is created using opalescent formulations. Pearly, reflective formulas float over the face and body like “liquid light” to brighten and enhance the skin. This creates a more intense, luminous effect that draws attention to various areas of the face. Dull can be transformed into luminous radiance.

Laser hair removal is an effective way to get rid of unwanted hair that has been around since the mid-90’s. It works by removing the hair from its root. The question on many people’s mind is can is is it safe and can laser hair removal cause cancer? Well while not 100% safe as it can cause damage to the skin it is relatively safe and it certainly does not pose any life threatening risks like cancer.

However, like any other cosmetic treatment there may be side effects. Some of these side effects may include things such as reddening of the skin, hyper pigmentation, splotch patches and infections.

The way that laser hair removal works is that it destroys the melanin, which is both present in hair and skin. So these lasers can cause destruction of skin cells as well as hair if the skin has higher amount of melanin. So the procedure is most effective on people with light skin and dark hair.

Make sure that your treatment is done by a qualified physician with good references and lots of experience. Some of the other side effects may include inflammation of the skin, as well as mild burns or blisters. Although these are generally just temporary conditions that are easily treated.

So if you are looking for a method of permanent hair removal then lasers might be your solution. You needn’t worry about laser hair removal causing cancer although as noted there is the potential for a lot of other less serious side-effects.
