Take 20 minutes to do a complete cardio routine but during the exercise shift between periods of high (really moving) intensity and rest. Your body will jump into action for you.</p>
<p>2. Add a couple of resistance exercises each week. If you have found that your ability to burn fat has gone down with age then you may be losing muscle. Muscle mass tends to decrease every year if we do not take measures to preserve it and this is important because every pound of muscle burns about 50 calories a day. <p>Another reason, and this is much more difficult to overcome, is that our diet has changed dramatically. Most food people ate before was natural, locally grown, and preservative free.</p>
<p>Contrast that to now, when most everything you can find to eat has been processed, chemically altered, and filled with preservatives. This can&#8217;t be good for us.</p>
<p>The biggest difficulty with this is that it can be next to impossible to find something to eat that doesn&#8217;t seem like it was developed in a laboratory. And even if you find a natural food grocer, it can be too expensive to eat on a regular basis.</p>
<p>Pretty much all the food you can find to eat today, from restaurants, to fast food places, to most supermarket food is filled with things that are simply hot healthy to eat, and causes all kinds of health problems.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s no surprise then, why we are becoming a nation of obese people. We are kept at desks, fed unhealthy food, and then shamed for being overweight. It&#8217;s not our fault.</p>
<p>The biggest surprise is that there are corporations and companies that make billions of dollars every year from selling you food that makes you fat and unhealthy.</p>
<p>But when you figure out how to eat healthy, and get a little bit of exercise, you can start to take your life back, little by little. It may take a little motivation and willpower, but it&#8217;s your life. It&#8217;s important.</p>
