If you are ever going to get full control of your weight and manage it permanently, you have to learn to get control of your bad habits and cravings. Certain thoughts or circumstances trigger certain behaviors. Learn what those are and you are halfway there. Learning how to change those behaviors takes you the rest of the way.</p>
<p>Almost 30 years ago I quit smoking. I can&#8217;t tell you how many times I tried to quit before I was successful, but it was many times. I would get so irritable going cold turkey that my wife and secretary both begged me to start smoking again. Of course I didn&#8217;t think I was that bad, but they certainly did. I was finally able to quit smoking when I learned about my behaviors and what trigger points caused me to want to light up.</p>
<p>I used self hypnosis to get control of my smoking habit and had no ill effects like irritability or weight gain, etc. Hypnosis or self hypnosis is not what you may have seen done on stage. Very few people can be hypnotized to that level. It isn&#8217;t mind control, it&#8217;s using a relaxed state to visualize. Let me give you an example.</p>
<p>I would put myself in a relaxed state and then visualize myself in certain circumstances where I would normally light up and see myself saying, &#8220;No thanks, I don&#8217;t smoke. I quit smoking and have had no ill affects.&#8221; I would see myself in a variety of circumstances such as finishing dinner, having a drink with friends or having a cup of coffee. In each case I would imagine someone offering me a cigarette and me saying, No thanks, I don&#8217;t smoke.&#8221;</p>
<p>The key to making hypnosis work is to visualize each scene very clearly. If you can imagine or day dream, you can use hypnosis.Think about it. When is the last time you went through a scene imagining you said things to someone that you wished you&#8217;d said. We&#8217;ve all done that.</p>
<p>The right hypnosis program can be the answer to losing all the weight you want to and then keeping it off. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to find a diet that you can comfortably stick to and learn how to reprogram those bad habits and cravings.</p>
